After a hearty refreshment, the trail continues until your calves burn. A total of 6 summer lifts are also open in the Hochkönig area in summer. Those who prefer a local guide can join the free guided hikes.
A paradise for bike enthusiasts!
Mountain biking in the Hochkönig region is the perfect adventure holiday on two wheels. Here await motivated bikers more than 20 wonderful tours and the “Flow One” downhill flow trail.
Of course, E-bikers are more than welcome. The region is well equipped with e-charging stations at the mountain huts.
Guided MTB tours (start: 10am) are every Monday in Maria Alm.
One of the most beautiful golf courses in Salzburger Land is situated between Saalfelden and Maria Alm. The 18-hole golf course of the GC Urslautal offers an impressive view of the mountain, the “Steinerne Meer – The Stone Sea”.

At a super-class trail running event, you run over gravel, fields and through forests and on open terrain. The Hochkönig region is pretty much made for this sport, with its varied routes and the exceptional Alpine panorama.
There are three major trail running events which take place every year in the Hochkönig. The Hochkönigman is very impressive with 7 competitions, with a total length of 198km and 12,630 height metres. The historical “Kumpellauf” commemorates the mining era in Mühlbach. Experience the unique event atmosphere during your summer holiday at the Hochkönig.
The Sommerstein adventure pool in Maria Alm invites you to swim on hot summer days. With a 40 m long water slide, current canal, floor bubbles, dousing showers, bench with massage jets, children’s pool, play stream and children’s playground it provides lots of fun for every family member.
Besides hiking and biking in Maria Alm, there is a wide range of summer activities on offer, for example, climbing, mountain climbing, trail running, riding and much more.

Lifts in the summer
6 summer cable cars in the Hochkönig region are open for you from 09:00 to 17:00. In addition to numerous hikes and mountain adventures, alpine pastures and huts with delicious specialties and local delicacies await you. Discover the mountains of the Hochkönig region also relaxed by bike and use the bike transport of the summer cable cars.
Open-air pools
Free admission to the open-air swimming pools Maria Alm and Mühlbach. Due to the current Covid19 regulations, the Hochkönig Card does not guarantee admission if capacities have been reached.
Bike transport
Take your mountain bike or your e-mountain bike comfortably up the mountain with the summer cable car and follow the trails back down into the valley. The Natrunbahn lift, 6-man chairlift Schwarzeckalm, 6-man chairlift Bürglalm and Karbachalm cable car.
Tennis
Free use of the tennis courts in Maria Alm and Mühlbach.
Mobility Card Pinzgau
Traffic chaos, nerve-racking search for a parking space and traffic jams – from now on you can save yourself all this during your holiday. With the Hochkönig Card, all public transport in the Pinzgau area is free of charge from the very first overnight stay in a partner establishment.
Toni’s playground
Free of charge family fun at the mountain hut playground by the Karbachalm with Toni’s family trail. The lift rides up with the cable car Karbachalm and bike transport is also free.
Summer Tobogganing
One ride up with the lift per stay is free of charge and the summer tobogganing run at Biberg, valid for the duration of your stay at the stated operating times.
Prinzenberg Mountain Natrun
Free family fun at the Prinzenberf Natrun Flow trail, Prinzensee lake, Prinzenwald forest, forest slide park and castle playground. The lift rides up with the Natrunbahn are also free.
MTB & EMTB Tours
Free guided mountain bike and e-mountain bike tours with a bike guide in accordance with the weekly programme. Information and booking at the local tourist information office.

Hiking bus
From Maria Alm via Dienten to Mühlbach and of course within the three villages free and unlimited use of the hiking bus and the entire public transport network within the Pinzgau region.
