Cross-country skiing
From Maria Alm over Dienten to Mühlbach and back again. The cross-country paradise of the Hochkönig stretches over 40km of prepared cross-country skiing trails. Maria Alm offers, besides the extensive cross-country skiing which is available, a night cross-country skiing trail. Whether classic or skating, here there is something for everybody. It is well known that you never stop learning. Cross-country skiing courses are also offered for beginners and advanced cross-country skiers.
Besides the cross-country skiing and the ski touring, winter hiking surrounded by the most wonderful mountains of the Hochkönig region makes for a great memory.

The village of Maria Alm is like a fairytale in winter.
Every Tuesday there is a spectacular Night Show at the Simmer lift. Part of the show are: nostalgic skiers, ski demo teams, torch skiing, the giant ice bear mascot and “Ziachschlittn“ (old style sledging), and much more. To round off the evening there is a firework display. The Night Show guarantees to be an unforgettable experience.

Alpine Guesthouse Kopphütte
Natural toboggan run (approx. 4 km) from Alpengasthof Kopphütte to the centre of the village.
You can take the bus to the Kopphütte bus stop, from here it’s a 20 minute walk. Refreshment stops and toboggan hire at the Alpengasthof Kopphütte (€ 3.50 per toboggan).
Reithgut
Lit natural toboggan run (approx. 1km) on walking paths and ski routes to the Dorfmühle, in the direction of Reithgut.

Horse drawn sleigh rides
A romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy winter landscape of Maria Alm is not to be missed. The horses snort, the little bells ring, firmly wrapped in a thick blanket, time seems to stand still for a moment. An experience for two or for the whole family, which you will remember forever.
